Ok Heading speaks for its self I over dosed my tnak with Idione, I have done several water changes and changes the pads and placed active carbon into the system I have brought the salt levels up and also the ph. Hence my duncins are not open and so is my kenya tree. I am concerned esp with the frag swap comming up soon.. I would like my tank is the best condition to add new corals to. My salt is 1.024 and ph is 8.3 the Idione is 0.008 or 6 as it looks I know high I am going to test tonight but I know ( stupid is as stupid does) I am dispointed that I would do that or even admit to it but I guess I had a misshapp. Any and all advice would help out alot. O I do think the idione is lower thought like 0.006 or 5 it went from 9 down to 5

It happend to me as well but i wouldn't worry too much because you made some water changes to bring the iodine level down... the corals will use up the rest of the iodine in a few days and the kenya trees will definitly come back around keep testing good luck.

I do think it was 1 tea spoon per 10 gallons of water I have a 42 gallon tank. How do I correct this problem.
If you have a reliable test kit you can see how much iodine is used by your corals daily then dose daily instead of a large weekly dose.

I am so careful with this and I feel stupid but I guess we are all allowed to make mistakes. On the other hand my shroom are loving it and so are the zoos. I overdoced the tank last week and did the water changes over the weekend on saturday and friday changed about 15 gallons of water in a 42 gallon tank. :splitspin:iamwithst

iodine is rapidly depleted in our aquariums, if you feel that you have to much in your system, run some extra carbon. i do not dose iodine and i do not recommend it.

just an up date the tank has decreased alot in the iodine depleation. I have done several water changes and the my salt is increased except the duncan tenticals look a little white but my main duncan is up and about opening up not realy accepting food right now but I am glad it is open.. the colt coral tree is opening up, but then again it is a slow upcommer to open up but the other little trees around it are up and about. Does any one have adivce as to the duncan tenticals and hoow to bring them back up. I am running salt of 1.025 and ph of 8.4. some phosphates like 0.03 any ideas please help.
