from skimmer to return??

guys i picked up a 65g this weekend. i plan to us the smaller DAS BX 1 skimmer on the tank and since i don't have a return pump i wanted to use the pump from the larger euroreef skimmer. can i change the impeller from needlewheel to propeller so i can make it a return pump.

You would also need to remove the volute on the intake of the pump.

This will give you lots of undesireable micro bubbles.. Not to mention the skimmer won't be working to it's full potential..

Bob, I think he is asking if he places a regular impellar in his old skimmer pump can he convert it into a return.

i went to three stores yesterday but no luck. none of them carried impellars. go figure

any vendors know where i can get an impeller for this sedra pump.
