Sponges!

I picked up a few red sponges a couple of weeks ago on the southern side of Staten Island, off the end of New Dorp Ln. They had washed up at low tide, and I picke the most colorful ones.
Some didn't make it, and all of them turned a bit brown. I kept them in my iso tank, and then a few really started to come back! Now, I have 3 really bright ones, looking very alive, and showing new growth. They are doing well in my main tank.
Maybe if they continue to grow, I'll frag 'em!

those are sweet- pretty cool they made it since sponges don't seem to live through trauma like that often!

Back in the day, Staten Island was a hotbed for lobster trapping and oyster beds - there is still a ton of stuff (life) out thre that many people don't know - diving off that area would be kewl cause there is still a ton of stuff there.
