Need some ideas and inspiration

Long story made short, my DT got ich and killed all of my fish so now I am fallow for a while. I now have a 29 gallon (30 x 12 x 18) and a 30 breeder (36 x 18 x 12) sitting around that I want to do something with. All I need to set up is a light and some live rock depending on what I end up doing.

So now for the ideas....

I would rather not need to set up a sump. Just want something simple and if I need a skimmer it would be a hob.

Any suggestions?

Use the 30 breeder...Leathers, mushrooms and a small school of chromis. Add a cleaner shrimp and a goby for diversity, Simple and almost Bullet proof.

You can use a Quad T5 or PC for lighting, a couple of powerheads on a wave timer would be nice too.

Octopus makes a nice HOB skimmer.
