difference between a 175 watt and a 250 watt metal halide

Does anyone Know how do you tell the difference between a 175 watt and a 250 watt metal halide Mogul base bulbs. A friend needs new bulbs and has no idea what bulbs are in there. I think I will have to open the ballast boxes to see what they are but was hoping there may be an easer way by looking at the actual bulbs.

Is the Internal Bulb a different size?

Most MH lamps will have a part number printed on the outer envelope that often has the wattage in the number. It does burn off though after prolonged use so you might not be able to see it any longer.
