Hi All,

The short story.

I had a 30 gallon hex reef for almost a year. Things were going very well until I went on vacation and my sister inlaw turned off the AC in my bedroom when she was only supposed to be feeding. Temp went through the roof and I lost a ton of corals...thankfully all the fish and some of the coral survived.

I broke down my 55 gallon planted freshwater and tranferred the surviving inhabs to the 55...used all the water, live rock and some of the sand to "seed" the new system. 1 month later I'm slowly rebuilding.

Picked up a 54W X 4 T5 light, setup the phosphate reactor & skimmer and improved the flow. Everyone seems to be doing very well though I'd love any suggestions anyone has concerning flow or anything else I could do to improve things.

I know I need a sump but I live on the 2nd Flr of a house (renting) and won't mess with one due to the risk of a mess until my wife and I close on our house.

Let me know what you think!
