Hello reefers, I?m consider buying a Reeflow Snapper pump. I need your input on overall performance of this pump (reliable/ noise). All the input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Danny.
Downside, inputs and outputs are not normally sized compared to other pumps - additionally, they are differently sized whereas most pumps have similar sizes for both - for example - 1" input and output. Snapper has 2" input and 1.5" output.
I’m not worried about the input/output. My sump is drilled for 1.5". I checked with thatpetplace and they said input/output are 1.5" The return to the tank ill reduce it to 1” for my Oceans Motion
I’ll be feeding my chiller and return line. I hope I could also feed my skimmer with it. Right now I have an Iwaki 70 feeding my chiller and return. The skimmer I’m using a Panworld 100 px-x. It’s over powered right now since it only needs about 780gph for the skimmer.
Running the skimmer with the snapper also may help out my return bulk heads since I don’t think they could handle the pump.
I purchased one and yes it is a good pump but you need to consider head pressure/ length of plumbing. I under evaluated my set-up and did not have enough pressure to run my tank properly with it. I downsized the return to 1 inch and ran it through about 7 ft of plumbing (with Chiller), 2 45 degrees, A wye, brought it down to 3/4 at tank because the return pipes on most tanks is 3/4 and then the 2 90 degrees on the outputs.
If you have something similar to this or more you will need to consider a more powerful pump. I stayed with reeflo and purchased a blackfin 1800 which was overkill but at least I can tune it down, in hindsight I wish I would have brought a Reeflo Dart.
Overall if it fits your needs, that is a great pump. Hope this Helps.
I purchased the Reeflo Dart. After speaking with a rep from Reeflo they said my best choice would be the Dart to feed my skimmer, chiller, cal reactor & oceans motion. Thank you all for your input, Danny.
I just bought the reeflow dart. Iv got it pushing the plumbing in my perfecto 300. I just hooked it up yesterday and i was amazed at how quiet it was and it rocks some good pressure for a return pump.
I have the reeflow dart, love the 2" from sump and 1.5 to tank, major flow into my tank, probably don't even need my koralia, due to it, and yes quiet, and low energy consumption.
