Ain't it the same as evaporation just put rodi water and every thing should be the same .
You are taking saltwater out of the aquarium, like when you do a water change, therefore you must add back saltwater, or you will be dropping the salinity! If the LFS replaced with RO/DI, it would be fresh water tanks!

Ok I'll rodi every body does there own voodo

everyone has their own way of doing things, but certain things can only be done in two ways: right and wrong.

if you going to add freshwater, then you doing it the wrong way...
you asked a question, listen to the post before this one. or you will be stressing your fish...

you only add freshwater if it eveporates, cause the salt of the evaporated water is still in tank, but if you remove saltwater, it MUST be replaced with saltwater...

Only one person agreed with you to add fresh ro/di water, everyone else has told you to replace it with premixed ro/di salt water. You choose to go with the ONE person who agreed with you over everyone else.

Why did you post the question if you only were intent on doing your own "voodoo". Good luck to you and your animals, and by the way I never wish luck.....;)

Seriously, evaporated water leaves the salt behind which is why it is so important to keep up with TOP OFFs. If you don't top off your salinity will end up being to high.
Water that you remove while acclimating has the salt value intact within it. You need to replace the same water back into your tank, therefore; you must take this acclimation as a mini water change.;)
