Hey all I use a prefilter box for my hang on back AquaC Remora. The problem is however is that the right side is always tilting down while the left side is up.
I consider this a major flaw of the prefilter box that the only thing holding it in place is two screws screwed into the side of the pump. Any ideas on how to keep this thing water level straight? Because the left side is where the water goes in, and since it tilts, the water doesn't go through the teeth. Anyone else have had this problem? Thanks!

Here is a picture trying to describe my prefilter box.. I was never meant to be an artist sorry lol

I've added small pieces of live rock in the other side but I think that prevents a good flow into the intake area... also, since the output from the skimmer comes out as a waterfall into the right side, the water itself pushes the right side down as well and the live rock didn't help

I have tighten them all the way... the reason why it tilts is also because the pump is connected to the skimmer by a flexible piece of tubing so I am assuming over time the tube bent in the direction of the pressure. I was just thinking about completely taking it off since that would give more space and whatever but the prefilter box helps with taking off the top layer of scum

I actually remember drilling a small hole in the other side of mine back in the day and adding a suction cup from one of my heaters to it to hold it straight to the glass. could give that a try.

Good to hear that i'm not the only one with this problem haha!

m'akoypinoy- so you mean you propped it against the side of the tank?

to those who took it off, did you see a decrease in output? Also, didn't any fish or anything get stuck in the pump?
