I just wanted to see what maintenance should be performed on a return pump (mag7) and powerheads (seios).

I usually just run them in a bucket full of RO water and distilled vinegar for a few hours every month.

Is there anything else that should be done like taking apart the pump and cleaning the impellers?

Sounds like you do more maintenance on your pumps than most of us. If I ever decided to do maintence I would do the exact thing your doing. No need to take it apart the vinegar and RO should clean it out just fine.

i no of some people who do that once in a while. cleaning the impellers is a good thing to do to make sure they never get clogged or anything. i would do that at least once every 2 months or so. you can prob even go longer than that.

depends on your type of dosing and calcium build up. If you dose a lots of calcium like kalkwasser, you should have a lots of calcium build up on your pump (anything that generates heat). My calcium level is around 420-450, and I don't get much calcium build up. I do clean it maybe once in 3-4 months.
