why is it that some guys are actually selling RBTs with the wrong info saying it's how many inches in length and how big by width?
Just to educate the guys when selling ...the size of anemones are measured by how big the roundness of the top is. What it means is that you measure from the top corner to corner. it's round so there is no length sizing on these. anemones can stretch up to 6 inches and can have a head/top size of 3 inches dimension and that size is 3 inches not 6. There is no such thing as lengh in size.
Now I'm wondering when they bought the rbt from the store what size did they give him when it's only 2 inches in dimension? Were they told that the size is 5 inches in length so it's a medium and they sell it for $90.00 instead of 2 inches and it should have been sold at $50?

if i'm wrong please let me know.

Actually RBTA's can reach up to 12"+ in diameter =0)

This thread is kind of pointless. Yes your right but people won't read into sizing when selling their BTA if they don't know beforehand. And alot of people see $$ before anythign else. When you get into Store pricing, you have the more expensive stores and the more reasonable knowledgable ones. Thats more dependant on their costs and rent.

Just don't buy from them, or when you go to get it and see its undersized for the price mention it nicely and refuse the sale, offer them the actual price. ect.

size varies from tank to tank, water conditions, light ect. i have 7 bta's reds and greens and some days the face is bigger then others. in the greens i have 5 of them and 2 reds, how the flow is hitting them makes a difference also, example, my red when it was on one side of the rock in less flow was a little smaller then it is now where it moved to andis getting more flow, you have small med and large, and then albano's which is super large, face has to be 10-12" on the face not including tenticle lenght

thanks for the input guys...
NYreefNoob you and i have the same belief where sizes do matter when it comes to how long the bta have been in the tank. color actually comes from lighting, food and water parameters and water movement. The picture from Albano the 2nd one are actually the same rbts as mine. Some btas depending on how much the stong the flow is will have longer tentacles although just to comment also on what tosiek is saying about considering why vendors/stores will have much costly btas. i understand that they have to charge more because they do pay for the mortgage of the store and that's not my issue. i don't have any issues with stores or vendors but just the guys that sell here in MR that just wanted to sell them.
i'm just saying that it's not right when they say it's 6 inches long and 4 wide because what matters in sizing is what you actually see when the bta is exposed from the tank. look at the pics that albano provided...do you see the lenght?
i also do see your point tosiek regarding people just want to make some money when they sell them but i'm just saying that it's just wrong. just my 2 cents of course.
and i know we can't really say anything because people will still try and buy them because they want one.

by the way Albano nice photo shot of the rbt.

thats second one albano posted is in his tank, been trying to get him to feed it so it will split so i can get one :) one thing i have noticed is the rbta's dont bubble as much as the greens, i have 2 varients of the greens and both stay bubbled, my 2 reds dont, not that i care, but just odd, seeing what ur sig is do you raise bta's ? i personally maybe only direct feed mine once a month if that, and correct on colors, they will be different reds pending light temp same with the greens, actually my one green which has white speckles throughout it is my fav one, plus all 6 clowns love having different ones to bounce back and forth too

yes i had about 15 probably 20 rbts until i decided i wanted to start a sps tank then i sold a whole bunch of them this past summer.
One thing about RBTs bubbling is that i have a whole bunch of power heads in the tank and to be precise i have one for every corner and that's beside the return from my sump. i even sold my small rbts for $15 at that time that sizes 2-3 inches, my mediums i sold were 4-5 inches for $30 and the large ones i had were $50. That's what actually started my thread here. anyways if you want your rbt to bubble up you need to position your powerhead pointed away towards them. as much as possible no water flow or very little at all. Check below when i had more of them.

and this is when i tried to shut of some of my power heads.
