Whats up everyone?
Its that time to change the bulbs in my PC (jebo) currently running 2-10ks at 55watt and 2-Acntics 55watt but am starting to think thats not enough light...
Had to throw on the strip light to get more light going cause it seems dark...but i know metal halides but am a student with a budget so......

Would it be more benificial if i upgraded to the 65w 12ks? its the 4 pin set up...

Hmmm...open-ended question?! What corals are you keeping? If they seem happy, there's no need to upgrade. Also, I don't think can plug in 65w bulbs if the current ballast only drives 55w bulbs; you're talking a whole new fixture.

his lighting uses 65 watts but he put 55 watts I think! Chris just go for MH so u can get good corals.

hehehe

How can i find out if my pc is 55watt only or if i can use 65w 4 pins?
I am using coralife bulbs but the 65w bulbs are odessya ....also no corals yet due to some water parameter fluctuations

But am curious cause the lfs-fishtown said i should be using at least 300 watts to see growth, and right now i am seeing no growth including any kind of algae...

LMAO @ Fishtown. How can they recommend wattage for growth if you have no corals?!

Again, your wattage requirements will be determined by what corals you ultimately want to keep. Decide on that, then get back to us.

..

When I changed over my PC light Hello Light told me that there isn't any difference between the 65w and the 55w PC bulbs. I orginial had the 65w bulbs in my PC fixture and when I bot new bulbs, which where 55w, I didn't notice the different. Just as long as the pins match up you should be fine.

Obviously for corals but i also asked why i am not seeing any other algae growth in my tank (not that i want it) but it seems way to clean and its making me think my water not stable yet again and i am trying to eliminate what may be wrong so that i can start putting corals back in and the key word is back...(ok we wont get into that again) my water para are fine dont worry .....=P

and yes softies, leathers, mushrooms etc...nothing crazy.....
