I bought this 65g acrylic tank used.
The interesting thing about it is that the stand is basically an acrylic sump.
It uses a spray bar system but I want to change it to something like a large sump.
It has 3 chambers with holes on the bottom of each chamber wall.
Any sugesstions how to set it up?
Should I add baffles?
It's hard to see in the pictures where the holes are.
The first two pictures are of the stand.
The last is the tank that sits on the open area of the stand.

I added a sketch of the sump.
I have 3 sections.
Sec 1 - Drain from tank & Skimmer
Sec 3 - Return Pump, Heater & maybe a cal reactor

Sec 2 is what I have to figure out.
I was thinking of installing small walls inside the section to keep sand or crushed coral in.
Also, add live rock as a refugium ( need light, hole long on?)
Will crushed coral be a good choice?

Any opinions?
Thanks

Since the holes are at the bottom of the dividers in your sump, you could put a small fish tank or a plastic container in the middle section of the sump with a couple large holes drilled in the ends for water to flow through. In that container you could put a deep sand bed, some rubble, and some cheato.
