ok i was afaird of lossing the purple coraline algae

As long as you have light the purple coraline algae won't die off. I think its either you diatom or brown algae covering over it. Not a problem once the cycle is complete.

that had happened to me in the beginning.. i had nice white rock it first turned brown. which i believe is the diatom taking over.. n now i got coraline all over my tank. hehe looking better every day.

how many hours a day should i have my light on to keep the coralline healthy. I think mine are dying off for some reason! They're turning dark grey almost black!

I dunno wats goin on. I haven't been leaving my lights on for that long these days because of my green algae outbreak. And i'm not sure if it's something covering my algae or if it's the algae turning black

i have 195 watts pc on my 29 gallon. i leave them on for 9 hours a day. coraline algae is doing unbelievable well. no ugly algae thankgod. i prob will cut back 1 hour just to play it safe. fish need to sleep 2. hehe

are you dosing any calcium?
