How do you properly dose kalk? Im thinking of using the ESV brand because i've used there 2 part before which was really good. I have a 56 gallon which is going to be mostly dominated with SPS. Would using kalk be more efficient than the 2 part dose? Im testing all cal. , alk., and mag. levels with salifert test kits.

IMO, dosing 2 parts is the most efficient way to either maintain or raise the level of Ca and Alk in your tank. It is direct and "instantaneous". The hard part is finding the right maintainence dose.

start with this...

http://www.reefscapes.net/articles/breefcase/kalkwasser.html

i have been doing some homework on using kalkwasser... i am going to switch to kalkwasser once i finish up my brightwells code a and code b calcium and alkalinity buffers. i find it okay to use... keeps my levels up but i want something that i can use w/ a doser. two part buffers you can't do w/ doser because if they are mixed too soon of each other it will percipate and have adverse effects. i am in the process of making my own doser and auto top off setup. try this for your dosing.
