I use to use ChemiPure for my tanks, then I bought the Bulkreefsupply.com's carbons, and I don't like them. They are a major pain when used in reactors. I find them to be to fine, and quite a bit of it gets wasted when starting up the reactor.

I'm going back to Chemi, and I use to change it out once a month.
Now I only run the carbon in my fowlr. The reef I run carbon on occasions. Not often.;)

I just bought unlra carbon from h20 dooes it realy matter the carbon you buy. Like is there very expensive carbon that will last you a while and that is better then others. Also I thought that the larger the carbon the more surface area you get for the water to clean

i like the larger particle size because it doesn't compact like the finer grade carbons as far as brand name goes i think most carbons work, you just have to be careful as some do leach out phosphate.

I normally use Rowacarbon but ive been playing with the aquamedic stuff of late for a few tests on this theory about hot soaking increasing efficiency..

If i get 5 mins i'll bang up the findings in a seperate post.
