Hi everyone, I have a 56 gal reef tank upstairs with a 30 gal refugium and
20-30 gal sump(both located in the basement). I am having such a hard time in deciding what will be the optimal return pump for my system. I run in the tank upstairs a tunze 6025 = 660gal/h and a vortech10 used at low settings = 500-600gal/h .
I have read that the flow thru the sump after the head loss should be approx 3-5 times. Is it 3-5 times of the whole system ( 100gal in my case) or 3-5 times of the display tank ( 56gal) ?
