From what i read on this company its sorta mixed. They fixed the fire problem like 2 years ago, and the people that do have them are happy with the product. You are getting crappy undeveloped bulbs and ballasts that don't compare to what you would be getting from icecap or another better known company that has a RnD department. You are getting what you payed for, this isn't a Diamond in the rough fixture, so don't expect too much. Its going to light your tank and grow your coral. As well as a better name brand fixture or icecap ballasts and a namebrand compatible bulbs? no way.
The company has to be doing something right otherwise they wouldn't still be in business for so long. But the company is just like LG when they first started out. They reverse design their products and use specs from outdated patents. Im sure they use old molds from other fixture companies for their parts and were using reject parts.
LG did and still does the exact same thing. They have no real RnD department, reverse build, and used to use reject parts and old modified molds that motorola, nokia, ect put on the shelf. Their products are better than what they used to be 2 years ago but they are still generic quality products that work 90% of the time. Their return rate on defective products is insane, and most of the time you will get another defective product on the exchange. And you will NEVER EVER see any improvements or technological breakthroughs aside from streamlining design and simple tech fixes from LG.
Sadly though, when i was looking up info on my name brand washer dryer when troubleshooting a problem, the LG version worked much better with less kinks, better control panel parts, but didn't have all the features. So, you can't 100% rely on the big high priced name brands either.
