i just purchased some clams from pacific east aquaculture and i cannot wait till they arrive. they are maxima and croacea clams and are about 2-2.5 inches
i used to feed my small clams with live phytoplankton because i read that clams under 4 inches needed supplementation to survive.
the only problem i had with that excess nutrients and lack of animals using the phytoplankton would produce extra organics and raise my phosphates.
now after some recent reading through other forums people suggest that the need to feed phytoplankton to small clams is outdated care info and good husbandry and lighting conditions are enough .
just wondering what are everyone's experiences
