I purchased one of these denitrators so I can test it. I would recommend that people stay away from these units. It leaked right out of the box from some fitting that were glued in. They would not repair or replace the unit because I put silicone on it to stop the leak. Anyone else have better luck than me using another brand of sulfer denitrator?

Our side of the story:

Maybe it would be better to hear both sides of the story before opinions are formed.

My name is Beatris and I was the contact to whom Joe (jw10604) spoke about the issues he was having. I work for Schplitter Acrylic Products for 4 yours and I know that Schplitter is always willing to go above and beyond for his customers.

In this particular case I received an email form Joe in which he mentioned that the unit was leaking from the plumbing and that he cracked the lid by over tightening it. He also mentioned that he applied "glue" to the unit to fix it. Our instructions clearly state to contact us if you have any issues at all and we will fix whatever may be wrong. We have every single unit checked to ensure there are no leaks so I assume that the unit got damaged in shipping. Unfortunately Joe tried to fix this before contacting us and by doing so voided our possibility of making a claim with the shipping company and voided all warranties.

I informed Joe that our warranty does not cover the unit if it was modified or mishandled in any way and he should have contacted us before applying the glue, over tightening the wing nuts and cracking the lid. It would have been a lot better to just contact us and ask for help. At this time I offered for him to purchase a replacement lid at a 30% discount if he was in a hurry or to send the broken lid back to us for repair. Joe did not like those options and would not send the lid back until he received the new lid. As with any company we can?t send out parts without proof of some sort. Some pictures or the broken part would have been enough for us to tell Joe if the part can be repaired or if a new one is required.

Joe, as I wrote in my last email to you, we need the lid for us to attempt to repair it. We would be more than happy to do everything in our power to fix the existing lid. I do not know if we can remove the silicone but I will have one of our techs try. I?m not sure what we can do about the crack but I imagine it?s easy to replace the acrylic and if it?s necessary it will be done.

My email is [email protected]. If anyone has any questions please feel free to email me and I will be more than happy to answer them. Joe I would love to hear from you and get this issue fixed as soon as possible. I hope we can get this worked out and make you a happy customer.

Thank you,

Beatris

An acrylic lid should not crack when being tightened with a plastic wing nut.
I was offered a replacement lid for the astounding price of $90. Basically this box is a $250 paperweight. I will stick with products from companies that stand behind their products. I used caulk to try and stop the leaking of water on this unit, not glue. They have tried to use every excuse to not honor any replacement of this item. I was not offered the option of sending pictures. I don't like it when vendors play cya games.

I don't know how they work but now I'm intrigued.

JW sorry about your bad experience. If you paid with a credit card you may be able to have them intervene on your behalf.
If not there may be somehow you can fabricate the broken part.
