Anyone buy mysis at the swap?

I just wanted to know because they came with a cool piece of macro algea that i put in my tank, just wanted to know what it was.

was it the sea grass? If so, that came from us and we have alot of mysis/pods in our fuge....

If you got the mysis from us I bagged them with red gracilaria and Agardhiella tenera. Some bags had both some had just one of them. Post a pic and I'll tell you for sure.

yep its red gracilaria. Does it spread quick and become a pain?

Its not invasive. Its really cool. If you get enough of it growing you can keep a seahare too. I've kept the Caribbean Spotted Seahare (Aplysia dactylomela) with the Red Grac. They love it! You have to have a lot though because they eat a ton of it each day.

my hermits eat it.
turbo bites off pieces and they float to weird places. kinda nice.
i have about 4 random patches now around my tank...

Its fine there. I have had it out-compete chaeto in my tanks but I have also heard the opposite so see what happens. It is great for nutrient export but it is also good food for tangs and other algae eaters.
