Finnex temp controller?

Ive had a jager heater in my aquarium storage bin for about a year now and just now needed to use it. Plopped it into the tank and my water shot to about 78 in 3 hours. It was set at 73. Good thing i checked it or i would have boiled my livestock.

So, with that i mind, i have been looking into getting a ranco controller + a finnex titanium heater for my tank lately and seen the finnex temp controllers. You can buy them as a set with the titanium heater, which is nice. But i haven't seen any reviews anywhere on them.

Curious if anyone has heard anything about them. It would save about 60-70$ going straight finnex. The ranco controller goes for about 100$. The heating probe from finnex about 45-50. While the set from finnex about 90$. I don't mind spending the extra 50-70$ for peace of mind that i know ranco will give me, im more worried about the finnex titanium heater =(

i've had the finnex controller and was not happy with it (some days it works some days it doesnt). I now use a Ranco. spend the extra $ and get that peace of mind.
