Does anyone know or currently have a starfish that is reef safe? Recommendation, what type or name of star. In the hopes the star will stay in the sand bed, to stirr the sand around. Mainly, concern that the star will not kill or eat my corals.

Appreciate your comments or post pictures of what you have or recommend, looking for something colorful.

Thanks!

Linckias and Fromias are species that are all reef safe, from my knowledge. There's also sand sifting starfish which will stay in the sandbed and do a pretty good job at moving sand. Serpent or brittle stars are reef safe as well although as they bigger there's the possibility they'll eat a fish at night. If you follow this link you'll see all the ones I'm talking about: http://www.thatpetplace.com/pet/cat/infoL3/24200/category.web

how big is your tank? most of the sandsifting stars require a pretty large sand bed to keep them fed. you could also use snails or some fish to keep your sand bed clean.
