I have only had the supersquirt. The only difference between the two units is the max flowrate. Very effective! Not noisier than you would expect. The sounds of the rest of the tank make this unit not noticable. I would say that most people are quite satisfied with these things as I am due to the lack of FS threads. If there is one it gets snatched up quick.

I purchased the OM Super Squirt during the GB. Unfortionately my larger tank was put on hold until next year. So my SS will be collecting dust till then. I did plug it in to make sure the drum turned, and I can definately say, the water dropping down the overlow will probably overpower the noise this little motor makes.

cool, sounds like no worries on noise then. Herman how long was/is your unit in use for?

i have the squirt hooked up in my tank it is operating good now but i did have a couple of problems one of them being sand caught inside of unit. it is designed that if this does happen it will not burn out motor it will just not spin the drum. i emailed the company i got a reponse within half an hour. spoke to owner(paul) who answered all my questions (i sanded drum all repaired) i highly reccomend this device and this company.

I cant say exactly how long I used for but it was definitely more than a year without a glitch. I just found out recently through our in house linkmaster, Deanos, That it robs as much head pressure as a 90 degree elbow which is awesome! Looking at the various tank threads on RC it actually surprises me how many people are using the squirts depite their prices.

Check out mmike1992's buidlog. His CL wityh the loclines through the LR is phenomenal.

I have a squirt on my CL on my 40g breeder. Its a good product and a the customer service (paul) is even better!

the difference between the squirt and super squirt is flow rate and that the super squirt is all 1" connections not 3/4" like the squirt.

It works great on smaller tanks needing lots of flow, but in larger tanks the small streams of powerful current it creates arent as advantageous to corals (sps). on anything larger than my tank i would get seios or tunzes.

I assume you're using this on that 30cube? If so I think it will work great. well worth the investment over those peice of junk scwd's.

Hey Jonathon
tks for the info. yes, I would use it on the 30 cube. When I tested out my return plumbing the other night I discovered that in addition to the SCWD robbing tons of flow as expected, it was also stuck to one side. So far I've only heard good things about OM products. I like the idea of the 2-way Squirt since I can plumb it right where the SCWD was going to go without any changes.
