Q.Is this possible?

I baught a crab at a LFS, and they told me it would not affect the other inhabitants of the tank. But since i got it more of my snails are dying. Is it possible that the crab is eating my snails?
P.S the crab is not a hermit crab, and i am unsure of the species.

"True" crabs, yeah, there's always the potential for it. However, emerald or red Mithrax crabs pretty much won't, nor will true porcelain crabs. Hermits are the most likely culprit if your crab is one of these types. If it's not, all bets are off.
