he he, figured i'd give you a plug here Ronen.

Anyway, i was just curious. In the event that I would decide one day to upgrade my pump (blueline70) to a Red Dragon (somebody, please stop me), would you be able to perform the switcheroo for me? (everything is in the cabinet under the tank)

It was all originally plumbed by you know who. I'm sure I can probably somehow figure out how to do it myself, but the truth is i would sleep much better at night with 200gal of water flowing in my living room knowing that a prof does it. Obviously I would trust you as a plumber, as a reefer, (and of course as a brother).

I am probably not doing this too soon, but i'm at least at the stage of thinking about it.

let me know also of course what you'd want (to make it worth your time and any parts you'd need).

Thanks!

I've never seen one in person, but from the photos they have some funny looking connections. maybe Nick can offer some advice as well.

Hey albert .
Not aprob i can help you with this.We would have to know the sizes of all output and intakes, and what other equp will be installing INLINE of course ,
As far as my time, not that much for a fellow reefer. If you want to save money ,Im sure we can get 1 or 2 more ppl to help out ,and all you will have to do is have a good Mid_eastern dish ready and job will be done ,oh yeah some shots of grey goose for after to party ,lol

Hey Ronen, thanks so much!!!! you are the best!
Dont worry, my wife can prepare a nice lunch/dinner (BBQ?) - All glatt kosher of course for the reef rabbi. Not to mention you'll get to choose your own thank you gift from my tank.
I dont have anything INLINE so that should make it easier. It will just go from the bulkhead in the sump to the return in my overflow box (i think it is 1" bulkhead and 3/4" return, but i dont know for sure).
when the time comes, we'll iron out the details i guess.

you can take a quick browse through this thread in which the Red Dragon was discussed.
if there are a few ppl interested, maybe we can get a better deal (and all help each other install it).

Ronen: i dont know if you remember my plumbing (guess i'll take a pic for you) but do i have to empty my sump before you come for the switcheroo? I ask because the PVC is in a big U before going to my pump because it did not fit straight out of the sump. Considering that the RD is MUCH smaller, it can probably just be plumbed straight out (i'm guessing) but the ball valve is after the corner. come to think of it, i think a pic is better...
