MR-2 Protein Skimmer Pump

Since I am moving my tank I figured I might as well get rid of my Mag 24 that is currently powering my MR-2. Any recommendations? I see they recommend a blue line 70(290 watt, 1750 GPH) or a PCX55(170 watts, 1141 GPH) but I dont like either one of these pumps. Anyone have any other recommendations?

The Iwaki 70 or if you are using 2 becketts use an Iwaki 100. Man that kicks some ass.

I couldnt leave it running 24/7 with the Iwaki 100 on. It would skim my whole tank in under an hour and then stop. I would run it once a day for 2 hours and then shut it off. But this was on a 65g heavily stocked tank.

Electric bill was screaming though with the Iwaki 55rlt on 24/7

Eric, I run a panworld 200ps on my dual beckett MR-2....I guess it's the same as the pan world 70. It's by far non- energy efficient but the skimmer will kick butt with this pump. If you're running a single beckett a genx pcx 55 or a pan world 150ps will be fine.
