Question about Reflectors

I just won an auction on a LumenMax Elite Pendant reflector for $80. I want to use it on a frag tank im planning to run. My question is do these things degrade at all in time? Or is a reflectors ability to disperse light compromised at all by a couple year's use? As far as i know the polished aluminum has no blemishes or rust or anything. Im just surprised no one else bid on it considering they cost like $150-$160.

only decline is if it starts to pit then the reflection wont be as good but not bad either, i car wax my reflectors before putting them in use

Thats a really cool idea. how does the wax hold up to the heat of the lamp?

They should not degrade or pit if you have the glass shields on them.

The same way it would hold up to hundred degree weather in the desert sun on a black car, basically?

your halide runs a hell of a lot hotter than 100 degrees...
