yea i know it about personal preference, i just don't want anything bad in the sand that would affect the tank

You'll be okay with either of those.Just let it cycle along with the rock.

you can pretty much find both of those brands at your LFS along with other brands. To save some $$, what i did with my tank was mix live sand with the 'dry' sand that they sell. Well, not really mix, but i put the live sand in first and then covered it up with the 'dry' sand...check out my tank thread.
