Skimmers going ouut of Wack !!!!!!

Well my skimmers driving me nuts everynight ithe collection cup keeps overfilling. I dont get it why it is happening anyone have any Ideas

Did you add anything to the tank? There are a few things that make my ER do this one is reef epoxy.

What's your entiire setup Nick.

When do you replace evaporation?
When do you dose Zeo?
Feedings?

Put the pumps on a seperate circuit and see if they are underpowered when the lights are on...perhaps that is it.

i have a auto top off machine on a float valve so the leve, is always basically the same level, I dose in the morning and then afternoon I feed once every ither day or 2 I only have a kole tang and a false perc in there and the skimmer pumps are on a diffrent circuit
and also NO nuttin new in there

Have you cleaned them with muric acid or vinegar lately?

no I havent there only running for 3 months my system's is 180g of water total

also I run HOT HOT water through the air intake once a week sometimes every 2 weeks if i forget

I dunno Nick, why not run it dry in the day and let it purge by running wet when it would otherwise overflow...

This might help and then, might not:
Can you place an air valve on the air line inlet and restrict the air slightly (like a Deltec) so that you skim drier? You can then open it slowly if it doesn't overflow again. With the Deltecs, by restricting the air input slightly, it also reduces the size of the bubbles rising up on the neck which is a good thing.

i could try that im thinking of doing the re circl mod on it this week or nest week see if that does anything for it But i will also try that

Nick, I would dial it back a little and see what heppens night maybe you just have the water level in the skimmer too high

Funny note: I notice diring the day, nothing - in the morning I come down and there is gunk in the collection cup - no idea why, but thought maybe it should be dialed down and see what happens

If I dial it down anymore the foam will be collecting under the collection cup which in return when it raises in the middle of the night then the scum that was produced during the day will be back in the water
