why is it that hair algae grows on snails and no where else in my tank.not that im complaining, but 15 out of my 17 old snails has hair algae growing on them and i dont have a lick of it anywhere else.i think it look pretty cool but there has to be a reason for it.

There is probably something in your tank that is eating the hair algae that grows on your rocks, but not on your snails. I can't say I can blame the creature either. I would eat say a piece of chicken if it was lying on a plate in front of me in a heartbeat, but i wouldn't go near it if it were crawling around my table, hahahaha.

Maybe because the snails eat it off the rocks but can't reach around to eat it off their own shells?
