Ever feel like crying???

Well the worst thing ever happened to my aggresive tank. Luckily My shark didnt come in this week... However My huge pink anthias, cherry grouper, jewel damsel and worst of all my blue banquillo have all died.

Reason why... I went to petland this weekend and got feeder fish for em guess what they must have had a disease within 24 hours they all kicked the bucket. im really sad althou i know the cherry grouper and pink anthias can be replaced for a fairly reasonable price however i cant source out a blue banquillo he was my favorite fish and had an awesome personality...

I also wanted to mention. If any of you guys have an aggresive tank and feed ur fish feeders. u should set up a QT for the feeder fish as well. as for i wouldnt want this to happen to anyone. Not only was i devastated but I was truely attached to my blue banquillo as well as my Girlfriend...

Dam that sucks dude sorry.i would say get saltwater mollies 4 feeders and feeder marine shrimp.check with dom from diamonds of the reef or brineshrimpdirect.com my lionfish has been mia 4 a week so hes got 2 be dead it sucks.

i agree with you totaly and I understand I had a 180 cutsom breeder build and it was a agressive tank. When my shark died I was very up set, do to the fact common it is a shark but it is sad when you loose a fish esp if you have had them for a while

Thanks everyone!!! and yea i should have stuck to my saltwater molleys however i couldnt find any this past weekend and decided to get feeders... i should have known better.

Thanks Young Reef and gracias for the starfish and snail. yea i was hurt last nite did a water change and some vita-chem... 1 more water change tonite and im hitting up some LFS's this weekend on the search for blue banquillo... lol

I think your experience is actually pretty common. It happened to me years ago when I kept aggressives. Then there was the royal PITA of just finding feeders during certain times of the year. Eventually I just switched them to frozen foods. Strips/chunks of salmon/clams/mussels, or any fillet will do them just fine. Less headaches in the long run.

I agree coralnut... its just that i found feeding them live fish more cool... but yea im gonna just keep them on frozen maybe set up a lil 10 gallon just for saltwater molleys at the same time i can qt them for a while b4 feeding em to the fish.

You can collect krill all year round right in Pelham Bay. (Well, I hear you can do it all year round- I have only done it in the spring, summer and early fall on "good" days)

You can gut load live ghost or feeder shrimp with pellets and other foods.
