I have an absolutely out of control salt creep problem.
Its starting to crawl across the floor of the basement and up the stairs...
I saw some anti salt creep addative once online and wondered if any of you guys had used it?

the salt is coming for you! Run for it! Your reef is plotting against you!

for a little salt to creep over the edge of your tank is normal and all you have to do is wipe it down. I cant imagine it actually taking over your house.

i've never used it, but am interested in this topic. my lights are relatively close to the water and salt creep does occasional affect my lights. Has anyone ever added the solution that stops salt creep into thier tank? does it affect corals fish etc..?

I dont have any leaks in the plumbing and maybe i was being a little over dramatic but i get quite a lot over the edges of my sump, more than i have ever encountered before and its often strangely irregular - nothing for weeks then big chunky stalactights in only a couple of days.

If your getting salt creep over the edges of your sump it's probably from splashing of the water in the sump, either from the inflow or the pump returning water into the tank. Sometimes things build up in the sump causing water to flow close to the edge and splash on the sides. Also the water levels could have raisen near the side and will evporation you get more salt creep on the side or openning of the sump.

ah, we were having fun aaron.
I too get salt creep in my sump from the splashes of my drain. i try to just break it up every now and then in the sump so that it doesnt continue and grow over the edges, because then it makes a mess, not enjoyable for a neat freak like me.
