Recently we added some soft corals in our clients tank and something has been chewing on it. We also noticed whatever zoas were there were gone as well. I even put a mushroom frag in a few weeks ago and it was eaten a day later. I was wondering what the hell it may be that was eating the corals and only the soft ones. Well one day we just got in getting ready to do maintenance to the tank and what do i see? Some sort of worm! It was really ugly with an alien like mouth. I see this thing take a bite off the leather. The minute i stuck the tongs in the tank this worm shoots right in a hole. Faster than a feather duster! I later did some research and found it was a eunicid worm. My client asked us to remove the worm today so we ended up breaking down the tank and restarting it since the worm was in a rock all the way at the bottom of the tank. This thing was disgusting! I start breaking up the rock and this is what i found! A 2 to 3 foot eunicid worm! These things can grow up to 50 feet but are commonly seen up to 6 feet! THE BEAST IS GONE!
