I am planning on upgrading my 10 reef into something a lil bigger. I was thinking about getting the JBJ 28 LED. What do you guys think? Do you think I should go this route or get the tank/ led lighting seperately. I currently am using 80watt pc on my 10 gal hex. I found the jbj led set up for 650

I think it is a good deal. I should have bought that one instead. In the long run it will save you money over the PC and MH. The LEDs run for around 10 years (so they say) and use about half thw wattage of a MH. And less than the JBJ quad PC. And since they last for 10 years you will not need to buy new bulbs every 6-12 months. No heat exchange really to speak of so no chiller needed. I think Marine depot was having a sale on those. Buy the tank get the stand free with it. And free shipping. Don't know if that is still going on though.

Yea. That deal is over. I was just on their site. I'm planning on getting it in the next month or so. Maybe there will other deals out there by the time I'm ready to buy. But I was also thinking that the tank pays itself in the long run wit the bulb replacements.

Those LEDs are suppose to support SPS corals. That's what all the manufactures claim. I know an LFS that uses them on a display tank. It looks nice but I think the tank is to large for the amount of lights they are using. The JBJ I saw seemed to look better and have a better coverage area.
