This is now my 4th day with my skimmer, and am still having no results. If I turn the micro bubbles down low, I barely get any foam forming, and it never reaches the top of the cone. And if I turn my bubbles up, I'll only get cloudy water inside the collection cup. The cone has turned brown from fish crap, which I guess is a good sign. Does anyone have any suggestions? Or should I stop panicking and thinking something is wrong, and just let it work itself out. I'm using a Coralife Super 65 skimmer. Can anyone give me some suggestions? How high should I have the micro bubbles to make it start producing?

new skimmers need time to break in...usually a week or more...
but your skimmer might have a pump problem...i never owned a coralife skimmer but snap a couple of pics...it will help problem solving greatly

Floating trust people on here that respond to your threads- lots have said collectively on your first thread and now on this one 1- 2 weeks until a skimmer is broken in- broken in meaning all the factory oils are washed off completely and the skimmer will then start producing skimmate. But I actually was like that with many other things and worried I just wasnt doing something right or the stuff I had wasnt acting right, but then a reliable source told me to relax and give it its time , I did and it was all good. If after a couple of weeks it doesnt start doing anything then you need to start seein whats up but not till then--what kind of bioload do you have? as in how many fish? Don't sweat it man it'll all work out whether the thing just breaks in and starts skimming for you or you change something and make it work.....Just have faith. Jimmy

skimmers need time to build up sort of a slime coating which takes a few days to 2 weeks, thought the same when i got my skimmer but after a week or 2 it was a beast but that was an asm

Yeah my Turboflotor took about 8 days to start skimming anything other than very light yellow halfway between fresh water and urine colored, and that was with it set wet enough that I turned it down when I went to work in case it surged- would fill my cup in 2 seconds flat. Then after about 2 weeks or so it started skimming dark green. Just replaced that one with a Bermuda Aquatics last friday- Dont have anything in the cup- is starting to skim but again am not expecting any real skimmate until friday after this.

I've used the same skimmer for about 4 yrs.
that said, the pictures you posted show the skimmer working properly.
If anything you can turn the pressure down, if I'm not mistaken the
bubbles should at the level of the red ring.
So turn it down and wait till tomorrow.
If no skimmet I don't know
