Problem with Vortex IN-80

I have had it running since the end of Dec. It has been working well i couldnt be happier overall. A few days ago it started acting up. It will be opperating normally and then ill check it and collection cup will be over flowing.. it seems like all of a sudden the venturi willl stop letting air in.. no hose blockage. What would couse this?

Do i need to clean the pump, replace the pump or what?

Clean it, and pour hot water into the air line, if over flowing something also might have gotten into tank water and making it act funny

yep. I would try taking the skimmer, pump, and airlines out and giving them a good scrub and hot water/vinegar bath (be careful it's not TOO hot). Also, have you added any chemicals to your tank lately?

My old ER RS 80 was overflowing like crazy due to some water conditioner that got into my tank (eh hehm.. by me putting it there, lol) and it wouldn't stop until I ran a large amount of carbon. Solved the problem almost immediately.

ill give it a good cleaning tonight and change the carbon.. we'll go from there. Thanks guys!

Took the pump out and ran it in hot water for 30min.. looks like its working again.. we'll see what happens!
