Uv light question

The light burned out on my uv sterilizer...local shop wants 50+$ for a new one... I think it's a 9 watt bulb. It was on my 55gl tank. My question is I see other wattages on line or same bulb. What's wattage should I get? Or can I only replace it with the same wattage. And if I can oly replace it with the 9watt is that anuff. Kinda lost when it comes to the light I didn't buy it my bro did so. Any info will help thanks!

are you keeping a reef? if so, i wouldn't even bother replacing it.

Just change it to what ever size it says on the bulb or unit
