Hey all,

I introduced a dragon Goby to my 75 G tanks yesterday. He hasn't eaten a thing. I have thrown in pellets and soaked the mysis shrimp with garlic, but nothing. I don't even see him sifting through the sand he/she just hides under a rock. Anybody have experience with this fish? Any tips? I have a gramma, scopas tang, and two clowns in there.

Thanks for the help

Hope you acclimated him 1st for 45-min..
Helps him adjust slowly to your tank water.
Who knows how long he's been transshipped to your local shop. Then How long has he been there trying to adjust to his new surroundings. Then you come along and buy him, and now he's in new surroundings again. What would you do.. go out and play?? Nope. He's adjusting to something new. Give him or her time to adjust. Always keep this in the back of your mind.... What if it were me?
He'll be fine.... give him time.
Just reread the post.... sorry if this came out so bluntly and rude.

They're a brackish water fish, though they may do okay in a SW tank if the SG is a little on the lower side with a pH around 7.8-8. They like to hide and are more comfortable with a cave or a planted tank. I know they'll eat live worms and will probably take mysis shrimp. When they get bigger they'll eat smaller fish. However, IME dragon gobies are not the best at finding food and won't do well with heavy eating competition.

OzoneParkGuy,

Rather then apologizing for being blunt and rude, how about just not being blunt and rude? I am well aware of what fish go through b4 they get to our tanks. Thanks.

Thanks for the advice cowfish.

Dragon Goby

Does the fish in the attached picture (Amblygobius phalaena) look like what you bought. If so it is extremely hardy and is a salt water fish. This is what is commonly called a Dragon Goby or half lined goby in the hobby
