From day one my Daisy Polyp colony is on the decline .I have them now for about 3 months at the bottom of my 90 gal.reef not sure what's the problem .Suggestions will be appreciated thanks.
2 175 watt 14,000k MH and 2 96 watt PC'show much light/flow?
Water is flowing over them, just enough to bend them.I'm leaning towards too much light .Open to suggestions.my guess is insufficient flow
Yes i do,and they are all doing fine.Buddy, do you have other zoo/paly's on the bottom also? If you do, how are those doing!
I will have to do that tomorrow before i lose the whole thing .It started out with about 200 polyps now i have less than 50.move them to a closer location as the other ones. see if they will do better
It was a healthy colony at a LFS, i thought it was a winner.I think i'll try them again from a member's tank though because they look cool under blue LED's . Thanks all.Sometimes daisy polyps come attached to a piece of sponge that is attached to the rock. If they are attached to a sponge, the sponge usually dies from being out of the water. If they are attached to the sponge and not the rock I would remove them, get rid of the sponge and lightly rubber band them to another rock or piece of rubble. A little hint, if you are going to buy them again have the store give the colony a shake under the water. If they start coming off leave the colony in the store
