Yes it happened to me. Mid december i Convinced my wife to let me upgrade from a 46 Bow to a 90 gallon. On January 21st at 1:00 in the morning i woke up to hear water running i got up to find my new 90 gallon had sprung leaks on the front two corners of the tank and in the middle on the back water was coming from the bottom frame of the tank. A quarter of the water was gone and had to rush to try and get water out two clowns, catalina goby and midas blenny. I put everything in buckets including the rock with water and was only able to pull out the clowns could not find the blenny or goby. The LFSe gave me a new tank which i set up again put rocks back and to my surprise the blenny and the goby where in the rocks hiding out. they survived with no heat or food in cold water for about a week. so i guess no lossess other than pissing off the neighbor below me i live in a third floor Apt. New tank seems fine begginning cycle again. Just wanted to share since i can finally speak about it.

damn dat sux same **** happen to me when my glass oceanic sump shattered on the bottom.... im still paying for the tenant downstairs to fix there ceil... issh sucked.. but im glad ur back on track now so am i... acrylic is the way to go. lol
My sump had cracked a few months back, and I was stuck for more than 4 seconds... LoL... It was about 2am when I discovered my display tank was about 3" below regular water level... I figured the sump was full and maybe it was my return pump but when I opened my stand and saw the sump empty I just stood in front of the tank wondering why wasnt I standing in water... Its a very bad feeling... Glad you had no lost...
Dhaut i can imagine what you had to dealt with NL electrical wiring of most concerned if you have your tank set up near a outlet each apt is wired seperately. Main lines coming from basements from meters run to your cuircuit breaker box than from there it is wired to all outlets and fixtures.

Triggerhappy: Did you water test the tank before stocking? Was it good, then all of a sudden just leaked. Lucky you got it in time & the LFS gave up a new tank.
yes i used most of the rock from my old tank plus new rock about 140 pounds in total and the tank cylced i had just put the fish in two days before. all Parameters were 0 and nitrates had dropped from 40 ppm to about 10 ppm everything else was holding stable.
I remember that nightmare! I woke up to an empty 55 gallon tank, thank God I owned the house, and it just flooded down in to my empty basement. That was back in the 80's am Odell tank for those old enough to remember that brand.LOL

thanks Awi and everyone else. i have no idea how the tank cracked or why. im just thankfull everything was ok all i have to do is wait until the new tank goes through its cycles again i wont take any chances. The LFS was good enough to have a new tank for me in two days no hastles. He was really good to me kissena Aquariums i respect that guy.

Jadakiss, sometimes it is not the actual glass that cracks. Lots of times is the silicone seal that gives way. Why? Who knows, perhaps low grade silicone, improper application. etc.........

Awi, Kissena Aquarium is located at 46-30 Kissena Blvd, Flushing NY. Sam is the owner very decent guy, small store a bit cramp prices on dry goods are decent, fish selection not so great but he has lots of corals and good prices on them. Plus he was a real gentlemen to deal with during this whole ordeal. he was genuinely concerned for my live stock. He even offered to replace the Catalina goby which i purchased from him. ( i eventually found him in some rocks)
