i have tried everything i can think of to stop these micro bubbles I have a filter sock on the intake of the sump and the output on the skimmer to reduce them in the sump, then i have a bubble trap before my return pump and a pre filter on that. im lost and i still have micro bubbles in the dt and there driving me crazy. any suggestions would be appreciated i know its hard for someone who has never seen the system to solve the problem but i dont know what else to do. I also tried a foam filter inside the bubble trap. I do have an extra 15g tank i can redesign my sump if some of you have some plans that work well i would love to see them.

Thanks, Ryan

Pics of your setup would help. How old is the tank? This will often clear itself up with time.

One thing I've found can help is raising the water level in the sump if possible. You may also be able to add an elbow to the return pump pointing down to catch fewer bubbles.

In 2.5 months, the pipes haven't had a chance to really break in. This should go away over time. That said... I'm also impatient, so...

I would try an elbow on the intake of the pump pointed down so that it pulls water from as low as possible in the sump.
