Duct tape

Is it ok to use duct tape in your sump?

The hose from the return is a different size than thehose from the pump. I stuck the hose from the return into the one from the pump and duct taped them toegether. I need to go find a fitting to hook them together with. Is duct tape ok for now?

I wouldn't leave them it running that way while you are out of the house.

Do you have a ball valve that you can turn off until you have the correct fitting? Just keep flow (using powerheads), heat going in the DT and turn it on when you come back?

I definitely would not trust the tape to hold

Just shut it off? The cats got into a fight behind my tank and ended up breaking the old fitting.

I'm with Kat on this. I wouldn't trust the duct tape to hold.

We have four 4 house cats, two of whom hate each other. One is aptly named Mr. Grumpy Whiskers.

You can use 2 different sized barb connector fittings and connect them through a step up threaded connector.

Going to Lowe's tomorrow. I have to get some eggcrate too for the top of the tank. Stupid cat went for a swim in my tank.
