I got a frag of a white acro. In the store under MH lighting it was all white and no poly extention so I dont know what color they were, but the sps had a slight hint of blue and when I got it home it took a few days but it looked really good and promasing with the hint of purple now under my T5's but now all but one tip and stems are turning a browner color (no more pure white). My questions are is it dying? Can anyone tell me the name of this coral? Any help would be great..

chances are if it is pure white you boutght a bleaching coral. If you do not have any other sps and this is your first attempt good luck. if you dont know they need verry low nitrates and phosphates along with strong current and high lighting. so are your t5's ho? how many bulbs? what is the overall wattage? what are your tank paramaters? is it in a good flow area? is it in the upper part of the tank for the light?

its probabaly dead. brown algea usually grows on it afterwards. stay away from acros. i hope it was a free frag.
"all white and no poly extention" is usually not a good sign on a frag.

Sorry to say but u bought a bad piece from the start..now if the store u bought it from is on the up..go back and see what he can do for u..U never buy SPS unless u see them fully extended...Also all SPS need lots of light and great water conditions...i Love all LPS, but IMO

Thanks to all the replies. I do have alot of sps in the tank and they are all doing well and growing some faster then others... The frag I got was a free one so Im not that upset about it I was just hoping to save it and watch it grow with the rest of my tank.. My nitrates are 0 most of the time never over 10. Pho also 0 most of the time Im am trying those new beeds that are suppost to keep both levels at 0 just started 2 weeks ago.. Water flow is well over 3000 gpm's. I put this frag half way but closer to the top of the tank.. Yes the T5's are HO and I am running 4 bulb 36" which are 39 watts each. can anyone tell what that frag is cause I cant figure it out?
