Take a pitcher and scoop up a bunch of water then pour it back into the tank from as high up as possible. This will help oxygenate the water. Also stick your hand in and fan the water around. Lack of flow is the number one concern.
u must live by me...off central? i got a call from home that power was out around 500...lasted to 6...came back on...out again from 8-9...i had just purchased a D-battery air pump from pet goods on Sat and it came in handy for $10...i was worried about loss of heat but we are back and ok
Use a battery operated air pump. I got tired of power outages, so I got a whole house generator. I didn't like the idea of keeping gasoline around to feed the generator every 8 hours. My whole house generator is hooked up to natural gas. Good Luck!
