How to Achieve Crystal Clear Water

Guys, my water used to be so crystal clear! Now it has little particles all over the place! The skimmer doesnt seem to be helping. I noticed this after I cured my live rock and put it in. What would you guys suggest to use besides a diatom filter?

actually what ya can do is either

A. wait for the debris to settle
B. Get a power filter and let it suck up all the debris.

i dont no about the diatom filter maybe someone else no's.

how about some pics on whats going on in the tank so we can be sure.

Diatom Filter is probably your best bet.
otherwise, try putting fine filter pads in the baffles of your sump (50-100 microns) but the diatom filter i think will take you down to 1 micron.
if you slow the flow in your sump, that may also encourage settleing.

if you want a diatom filter, i have the XL with the carbon and a big bag of powder i'd sell.

I dont think a diatom filter will help you.
I have one it was a waste of money I use it to vacuum my sump

it will clear out the water column (you can see reviews on RC). I used it as I was rearranging my aquascape to clear the water after my mess.
it is a pain to use, but it deffinitely works.

I read somewhere, but I don't remember at this moment, that using a diatom filter can add to the phosphate level or some such thing. It can actually add to algae growth because of the diatom media (brown algae is actually diatoms). I'd check a little more on the web before using one.

Diatom powder will cause an algae bloom IF it gets into the tank, due to improper use of the filter.

Funny you say this...You'll think your water's crystal clear until you see someone elses tank with even clearer water....It happened too me

alright i ran my new skimmer for 10 hrs, i gotta say even tho this skimmer was new, it made my water so clear i can see through it like nothing was in the tank but air. the water is so ^%*$& clear

The water is clear now, but i still see **** floating around. I think the ev 120 isnt strong enough for my tank.
