switchn african cichlid tank to salt Fish only

do i have to drain my existing water or can i just add salt ,i have african cichlid gravel do i have to remove it alos?any info would be great,,its 150 gal

I would not use the existing water, drain the tank and use RODI water along with a good salt mix. You also don't want to use gravel in a saltwater tank, the gravel tends to trap a lot of nasty stuff so I would use sand.

do i need ro water,it wont be a reef just big fish ,maybe triggers/grouper?

If its going to be a fish only tank you maybe able to use and I hate to say this word lol, tap water along with a good tap water conditioner.

i also moved from african cichlids to saltwater. since you are going fish only i would think you could use tap water. i would still drain the tank and put in new tap water and mix the salt.
