I ordered mine about a month ago. The best part about it is the ability to get into those 'cannot reach places' where coraline grows and you want it out.

Here's some pix of my 'impossible to get to coraline' before, during and after the scraper.

Before:

During:

After:

Another after:

Adrian turned me on to this one it's more money but I think it's worth it.
Looks really sturdy.

I looked into this scraper. I didn't think it was worth $9 more before shipping. Now that I have the ReefGadget, I know I was right. The Reefgadget has a much slimmer profile, allowing it to go places the MagScraper cannot. JMO

that wont work on my tiger shark magnet.

The ReefScraper can be made for ANY magnet out there. He custom makes every one. All you have to do is give him the L x W x H (H = height from the glass to the top of the magnet. This is actually the most important of the measurements. That's where he bends the acrylic to accomodate the correct height).

Does this scratch the glass? in general when you use such things do you just have to be careful not to go sideways and just up and down?

The generally accepted way to use a magnet on glass/acrylic is always side to side, not up and down. Always start at the top and work your way sideways to the bottom. This prevents turbulence from stirring up the sandbed and getting a grain of sand stuck in the magnet.

Anyway, in answer to your Q, no it doesn't scratch the glass any more than careful scraping would with a razor blade. My tank is acrylic so I use the yellow plastic 'blades'. Works great as my pix should show.

On the glass version, only the razor blade itself, needs to be replaced.

Those miniscrapers would work, but you'd need to drill the holes in each one to attach it to the Mag Float.

i'm talking about the one from reef gadgets, can just the blade be replaced when needed?

The plastic blades for acrylic can be replaced from Reef Gadgets as well. I've got one for the acrylic and it comes with replacement blades. Rich, the guy who sells them is great to deal with. Not worth the effort AFAIC to make them for what he sells them for.
