As some of you may already know I recently went from a 24g nano cube to a 45g Marineland cube tank. I have been skimmer less for the past 3 weeks and even doing 2 20% water changes a week and feeding my fish lightly ( I only have 2 pairs of clowns in my tank) I cant get my nitrates below 10 ppm. I'm thinking its time for a skimmer! The problem I have is that the stand does not have a lot of room for a large sump so I'm using the Pro-Flex model 1 sump made by Aqueaon AKA All glass aquarium and its on the small side. I do have room for the Marineland In-sump skimmer rated up to 100g but I'm not sure if its any good. I would like to here some reviews before I go and order it. Thanks in advance!

Hey Lenny - hate to sound like a broken record but I won a 45g Marineland cube package at Macna last year and that is the skimmer that came with it, so I used it.

I find the skimmer to be a little beast. It's a needlewheel skimmer with a built in pump. Easy as all get-out to clean & reassemble.
I'd say go for it with that size tank. I think Jim & Russ (SWC) might have them, though I'm sure you still might have a few sources of your own ;)

I'll see if I can find the pic I took of the skimmate this thing produces.

Thanks Kathy! I just did a search (should of done one before my post ) and I came across a similar thread which you posted pics of the skimmate, looks like this skimmer pulls out plenty of crap for the price and size lol. I do still have some sources but If I can't get it I will contact SWC, I refer all my old customers to them since there customer service is top notch ;) Thanks again :)
