So as soon as you change the bulb to something like a pheonix 14k the ballast blows. I called aquatraders and they say they dont recomend using other bulbs with there ballast. I ordered a SUNPARK electronic hqi ballast for 65$ new theyre about 120 anywere but the retailer.If you have switched the original ballast to this or something else and have no issues with the original oddysea fixture after ballast is replaced let me know please. I will re post when i get the ballast and fire it up. I guess this is the same ballast that comes in the current usa halide fixtures and they come with a 1 year warranty so I am hopeing for better results.
